Musical ThreadsA New Musicological Concept
discovered from the Ancient Indian Music

Abstract:

Cementing the bricks of music architecture-the notes and intervals can be done with the help of musical threads – a new musicological concept discovered from the ancient Indian Music. Minute changes in terms of frequency, loudness and duration are employed by musical thread in music.

The minute dimensions of the Musical threads may help to bridge the Microsound and the musical sound. Musical threads may be intimately connected to the grains of Microsound. Hence the musical threads may help to refine Micro-sonic techniques to improve the musical sounds of traditional methods, create new musical sounds and develop new composing methods and techniques for world music. Also it may lead to new applications in digital music.
